Christmas

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!!! I know I did and I had my camera every step of the way...One of my favorite pics was of my nephew Alexander...Of course it's always the spontaneous pictures that turn out the best. My husband was holding him, he grabbed the shear to look out the window, and I saw it immediately. A beautiful photo opportunity that me & my OCD self couldn't help but shoot. I had the camera set on "creative auto"; which for the Cannon EOS Rebel T3i is like "auto" on steroids...well at least that's what my "for dummies" book that my boys got me for Christmas said. ;) I left it on this setting all day..I didn't want to have to "think" too much...I mean it's Christmas..and things happen fast...I didn't want to miss a thing. I can play with settings any day...I only get one shot at getting "the shot" Here are the settings for Mr. Alexander's Christmas awesomeness.

Tv( Shutter Speed ) 1/50
Av( Aperture Value ) 5.0
Exposure Compensation 0
ISO Speed 160
Lens EF-S18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II
Focal Length 39.0mm

Here is another shot of my niece and nephews enjoying their Christmas presents. Another "creative auto" shot. I love this picture, mainly because I caught the darts coming out and my niece has this "My Family will protect me at all costs" look on her face, but again, as my OCD self kicks in, I can't help but think...how awesome if the darts were super clear..what if the shutter speed was pushed up?? This kind of personal torture is why classes are soon in order. Picking the perfect settings should be second nature...I hate not knowing everything about everything....Yes...I'm impatient..yes I'm determined....but if you know me, you already know this.
