Got a little behind on my 365....Here are some photos that I have taken over the last week. Life is so much about enjoying every day beauty, and capturing the people and things you love along the way. I look forward to sunny summer days when sunset is long after my "day job", and I can have lots of sunlight left to capture the outdoor beauty I simply adore. I get excited thinking about the greenery and flowers of spring to come.

3 days of 365

So we had our first decent snow of the season, and I had the day off!! The husband and I took to the mountains of North Carolina for some long awaited skiing. It was bitter cold today, and I was too afraid to my camera up the ski lift. I did get some pictures along the way though. :) I have been wanting to shoot snow since I got my Cannon for Christmas. Isn't nature beautiful??!! Have a great weekend guys!!!

One of my 1st shoots

Not long after I got my first "real" camera, my adorable niece thought it would be great if we took some pictures. It was her birthday and it could not have been a more beautiful day outside...She was the absolute best subject for me to have fun and practice with. I told her to get some things together that she loved and we could take pictures next door at the farm across from Grandmomma's house. Later that afternoon as were putting things together she runs in and says "Aunt Jenny!!! I need some glasses"...Me: "You need some glasses?? What kind of glasses?" Bronywn: "You know..the kind you wear." Me: "Ohhhh!! OK you want mine?? What are they for?" Bronwyn: "Well, I have this lava lamp and it's broken; but if I had glasses I could make it look like a science experiment!!" Me; "OK baby girl..that sounds fun" These are some of the things she packed for the photoshoot. Binoculars, glasses, teddy bear, books, her new birthday Hello Kitty makeup set, and her Rock Band guitar. Sounds fun huh?? :)

Man did she ever have a vision. She had idea after, after idea, after idea. One of most beautiful girls I know and love. My beautiful niece Bronwyn. Here are some of my favorite pictures from our shoot that day.

A love like no other/My 365 1/10/2012

I absolutely cannot take credit for this photo. My niece Tori Herron had this taken in Haiti on a mission trip. I read an article last week (wish I had added it to favorites) about photography tips. One of the things it said was to find a photo that you absolutely love, and ask yourself why you love it...There are so many things about this photo that I love. Most of all it's the emotion it makes me feel...a love like no other...the trust of a child and the kindness we should show everyday for each other. This crazy world fills us with envy, greed, jealousy, and the "I deserve it" attitude. Think of what these children in Haiti deserve...and what you have. Shame on us as a society. So today be thankful, be loving, be considerate, and be happy; because everything else; is so unimportant.

My 365 in the park

I absolutely LOVE nature, and animals of all kinds. I went to our local Park today, and even though it was cloudy and rainy, I got some amazing shots! I love being able to see the animals up close through the lens, and wait for just the right time to snap a series of shots. I'm always excited to see what I get. Today was absolutely impossible for me to just pick one shot of the day, and I guess I could drag them out through the week, but that's just not my style. Here are my two choices for 1/8/2012

My 365 1/3/2012

A 365 is random, and this picture is the perfect example of that. I have a huge obsession for hats. I love them, and the fact that they let me leave the house on a Saturday only spending 15 minutes on my crazy hair!! :) It's just a bonus they make so many adorable ones!! I need an adorable red one next...I'm on the look out ;) Have a great rest of the day!

365

Most people who love photography have heard of the "365" challenge. I love this idea, and mostly because I love a challenge. I feel like this will help me grow in so many ways. Yes I am going to take classes, and I feel those are just as important; but I am a hands on person. I love to learn through figuring it out, because in the end, I want to shoot what speaks to me. That all honestly sounds sort of cliche and silly when I read it back to myself, but it's the honest truth. Sometimes it's my children, my pets, my husband, my nieces and nephews, my beautiful friends, or just a beautiful sunset that looks as though God himself painted it. When you slow down and look at what's around you, it's hard to deny the beauty of life. The first picture was taken on 1/2/2012 of a tractor on Grandmomma's property. It was extremely windy, and I loved the way the field grass was blowing in front of it. Again, maybe a little cheesy, but I grew up on a farm, so maybe that would explain why it's somewhat nostalgic to me. The other picture was taken on 1/1/2012 and this was also taken on Grandmomma's property. I think it speaks for itself :) Everyone have a wonderful night...I have today's pic to choose and edit, which I will post shortly, then off to bed. This girl's gotta work for a living....but I'm blessed to work.
